In the 1950s, the Guerlain family decided to create a fragrance based on the surprising roots of vetiver. Incidentally, Guerlain offered a dilution of V̩tiver, which was a bestselling fragrance in Mexico for quite a long time. Jean-Paul Guerlain was inspired by this scent to create V̩tiver.
